News and Media Editing

I have been copy editing and proofreading in the news and media industry for nearly 20 years. From tiny news briefs to lengthy human interest features, Iā€™m fast, accurate and dependable. Proficient in Associated Press Style.

As a news editor, my success lies in my aptitude to quickly and thoroughly evaluate content for mechanics and contextual errors. In editorial team development, my success relies on the ability to be direct but pleasant with emerging writers, empowering them to become better writers.

Fiction and Non-Fiction Book Editing and Coaching

Fiction editing is one of my greatest passions; I find it thoroughly enjoyable, and that makes me good at what I do. I have beta read and proofread for a number of clients and while earning my MFA, I stood out among my peers as an exceptional developmental editor. My years of copy editing and proofreading in the news/media industry have honed my skills.

I provide developmental coaching and manuscript editing for emerging and established writers in several genres. Through one-on-one coaching, line editing, copy editing, proofreading, and manuscript review, I help writers with the mechanics of telling their best story. No matter where you are in the process, I can help to get you to the finish line. Send me a line through the contact page.
